We have the following ministries at Epping SDA Church.

Youth

Our Youth Ministry encompasses all the youth of the church but targets the mid-teens onwards and includes all the young at heart. Many of the youth are both participants as well as leaders and the emphasis is on team effort and socialising.

We value our youth and the contributiont they make to the family atmosphere at Epping Church. They are a vital component of any event that happens at Epping and the support from all the members is very generous.

A Youth Ministries Team will provide guidance for all youth activities.

Pathfinders/Adventurers

Epping Church is all about the future - our children. We value each and every child and want to make sure their walk with Jesus is fruitful, enjoyable and loving. We have a busy program for children during the afternoon and some weekends on Sabbath. Adventurers is run for children from age 6 to 9 and Pathfinders is run for young people from the age of 10. We are part of the worldwide operation of Pathfinders under the SDA church. Adventurers is considered part of Pathfinders.

Our programs are inclusive and invite children and their families to participate fully. We prefer parents get involved and bond with their children during these programs. Our programs are run during school terms and occasionally we have programs that run during the holidays and summer. Children learn practical skills, social skills, outdoor skills and God. Outdoor recreation has an important place in our program. We generally plan to have 3 or 4 camps or backpacks each year.

Camps help children learn self reliance, team leadership, love and respect the environment, develop physically and understand God in nature. Families are encouraged to acquire good camping equipment for their own use but some equipment is available on loan from the Pathfinder stores. Our leaders are experienced and in various stages of outdoor leadership qualifications and enjoy camping. As the young people grow, they are also encouraged to continue their development through leadership training.

Some of our best adventures have included walking the Overland Track, Milford Track, Wollondilly camp and various expeditions each year. Our leaders have their own individual achievements which they can talk at length about.

We invite all children to be part of the programs whenever possible. Membership is renewed annually at the beginning of February when all are invited to participate. Parents who have particular skills are invited to help instruct the children. Above all, we need your prayers and support.

Children

We have a lego based ministry for the children in our local area called BrickClubz of Epping.

The programs include:

  • BrickBubz - a preschool playgroup which loves Duplo & all things bricks!
  • BrickKidz - a monthly event for primary school age kids to gather for lego building competitions

Personal Ministries

This is a facet of Epping Church that is designed to mobilise and motivate our church members to meet the spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs of the unchurched in the community, focusing on bringing salvation to every person.

Some of the programmes that our church runs:

  • Vegetarian Cooking demonstrations (this has been running since 2010)
  • Craftees with a purpose
  • Vegetarian Recipe Club
  • Mid-week Bible study groups spread around the Epping and Hills area. These groups meet in person as well as over Zoom.

Music

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord Ephesians 5:19

At Epping Church we are prayerfully striving to make our music ministry vibrant and an opportunity for our congregation to be drawn into an experience of worship and praise. We incorporate a combination of contemporary worship songs and hymns, with the favourite hymns from years gone by. We are committed to enhancing the worship program with the songs that are selected, being mindful and respectful of the divergent experience and tastes of all our members, in every music experience we hope that our church family feel that they have encountered God in a deep and personal way, and that their relationship with their creator has been strengthened and deepened, through the sharing of this form of worship.
